Fly High Basketball started in a backyard in Tarzana, built by a young coach with a simple belief: when a kid truly trusts their coach, they become more confident in everything they do. Today, that backyard passion project has grown into a family-driven program serving players of all ages and skill levels across the San Fernando Valley.
I founded Fly High Basketball at 17 years old with a vision to build more than just skills — creating an environment rooted in trust, confidence, discipline, and genuine relationships. Now 21 and in my fourth year of coaching, I serve as Head Coach and President of Fly High, developing athletes ages 2 through 12 across the San Fernando Valley, while studying Real Estate Development at USC.
As Head Coach at Heschel Middle School, I have helped build a program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a competitive mindset, and I have coached numerous youth teams across a variety of sports. My coaching philosophy focuses on creating a positive, challenging environment where every athlete is encouraged to reach their full potential both on and off the court.
As a dedicated high school student, I bring a strong passion for sports, leadership, and continuous growth, with a deep appreciation for teamwork, discipline, and competition. My goal is to pursue a career in sports journalism or media, and I am committed to working hard and helping build an environment where everyone can grow both on and off the field.
At Fly High, the goal was never just to develop great players — it was to develop great people. We believe the lessons learned on the court — accountability, resilience, teamwork, and the confidence to keep going when things get hard — are the same lessons that shape who your child becomes off it. That's why our coaches pour into each player individually, building real relationships that make kids actually want to work hard and get better. We hold ourselves to the standard of the 5 P's: Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance, every single session. At Fly High, we're not just coaching the game — we're investing in your child's future.
Fly High Basketball was born in a backyard in Tarzana, built by 17-year-old Harel Levi with a hunger to create something of his own.
It started with just a handful of private lessons, focused not on numbers or growth, but on building real relationships with every player.
Harel believed then, and still believes now, that when a kid truly trusts their coach, they become more open, more coachable, and more confident.
After high school, one thing was clear: Harel had built something real, and the foundation was too strong to walk away from.
He enrolled at Santa Monica College online so he could stay home, keep his head down, and pour everything into building the program.
The backyard passion project grew into a full program serving families across the San Fernando Valley, and Harel transferred to USC to pursue his degree.
Today, Harel, Joel, and Jonathan work side by side, pouring into each player individually to ensure every child improves each time they step on the court.
The staff lives by the 5 P's — Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance — and holds themselves to that standard every single session.
The goal was never just to develop great players — it was to develop great people. At Fly High, we're investing in your child's future.
